Default Thread chaser for O2 sensor bungs

If you were like me and had a difficult time getting out your O2 sensors try this.
I used a 18x1.5 spark plug thread chaser to clean the threads on the bungs and it worked.
They are sold as a single unit or as a combination 14x1.5/ 18x1.5

good information , I haven't taken mine out yet, but I have been wondering what size threads those were. I have my new pipes and there is a spot of weld spatter on the threads that will have to be cleaned out before I screw anything in there. Thanks for the post......

Sounds like a good idea. Sounded like the threads had sand in them when I did my pipes.

Problem is the factory does not put any antiseize on the threads when installed. Two different metals under extreme heat tend to "fuse". Highly recoomend when you change out exhaust that the sensors get antiseize at install, suprised how many shops are not doing that!
Your local Auto Zone will have thread chasers if you don't want to wait for shipping!

Good tip.

It took a lot of brute strength and the right wrench to get the o2 sensors out of the stock exhaust when I replaced my pipes.

Vance and Hines specifically recomends anti-sieze compound when you install the 02 sensor on their pipes.
