HELP!!! Ignition Woes
My bro-in-law has a 1997 Fatboy. He's is having one hell of a time getting it started. He has changed the plugs out 3 times and is still having issues. Took the plug out and layed it across the block to see if he was getting any spark, but no luck. Any thoughts? Could it be the plug wires or the ignition coil? We are going out for a nice weekend ride and want to make sure he's up and running.
It would start and run great and then we went out to ride last night and no luck. This has been a recurring problem.
Thanks

RE: HELP!!! Ignition Woes
Dert,
Replaced the original coil with a Screamin' Eagle coil and then replaced the Ignition Module with the performance Screamin' Eagle one (8000 RPM) and that did the trick. It was the module after all. Hit the top of the original one with a screwdriver and the bike fired right up. Kept on repeating starting and shutting it off. After it failed to start, hit the top of the module and it started right up. I really appreciate your input on this. Thanks!! Noticed the mid-range pick-up and timing have changed for the better.
