My Street Glide in "Touring" trim
My wife and I have planned a few 3-4 day weekends this summer to get out of the heat of Phoenix. Thought it was time to set the Street Glide up for "touring". I added a Sundowner 2-up seat and the thrifty "VIP" tour pack. Haven't had time to ride it enough to rate the seat, but sure feels comfortable. The $135 VIP trunk is actually a decent product considering the price, especially compared to the price of HD's Tour Pack. It took a few hundred dollars from HD to mount the pack on a quick-release luggage rack and to move the FM antenna up to the Tour Pack.
Beautiful thing is, I can have it back in factory Street Glide trim in about 2 minutes for around town rides....

RE: My Street Glide in "Touring" trim
To tell you the truth, I've never really looked at a Tour Pack because of their outrageous price. Therefore, I really can't compare the quality of the VIP to HD's Tour Paks, but the VIP is built fairly well and I can't find a blemish in the paint finish and appears to look as good as the paint on the bike with a coat of wax on it. I was also worried about the ugly "VIP" logo on the back of the trunk, but the good news is, it was glued on and came off very easily.
FYI, for those with a Street Glide, these are the HD parts required to mount the trunk on a quick release rack:
53804-06 Two-up luggage rack docking hardware kit ($ 54.95 )
53276-04 Two-up Tour Pak rack ($ 149.95)
76326-00A Antenna relocation kit ( $99.95)

The DMY trunk I purchased can be found at:
http://www.customcyclegear.com/products.html#
The bottom of the trunk had a "Made in China" sticker on it, so these guys must be the importers.

RE: My Street Glide in "Touring" trim
I have had a vivid black VIP tour pak from customcyclegear on my EG for about a year. It is mounted using the HD solo detachable rack and mounting hardware. It is a terrific product for the price. When you consider it has the volume to hold two full face helmets and a built in backrest and a lockable closure, it is a helluva value.
To mount it using the solo or two up detachable HD rack you will need to place the U shaped mounting bar on the bottom of the box and mark where the five holes need to be drilled in the bottom of the box for the bolts to attach the box to the bar and rack.
Glad to hear you are pleased with your purchase. And, yeah, the HD king tour packs are ridiculously overpriced for what they are.
