Default Performance Upgrades

This weekend I'm installing a Hooker Troublemaker Full Radious Exhaust and a Kuryakyn Hypercharger on my '06 1200R.

I've been doing some asking around about jets for proper air/fuel mixture and I was directed to a DynoJet carb re-jet kit.

Most people have been telling me at a 180 main and a 45 slow my best bet. I know I'm going to have to tweak it a bit, but those are what I'm going to try first.

Anyone have any extra info? The more I know the better.

I'm also installing a chrome forward foot control kit, should I use some kind of thread sealer? like Locktite?

You don't have to buy the DynoJet kit. They are a waste of money for anyone who does their own work. Get some jets and some #4 brass washers from a local dealer or indy. Start out with the 45 and 180 and place a couple of the washers under the needle. Drill out the air/fuel mixture plug and LIGHTLY turn the screw in until it seats. Then turn it out (richen) to 2-1/2 turns. This should give you a good starting point to begin looking for signs of too rich or too lean. Remember, every motor is different and the jetting for one, even with the same modifications, may not be the same for another. When you are purchasing jets, get a 48 slow jet just in case. Good Luck.

To answer your question about Locktite..... buy lots of it. Use it on everything!!!! When you do your initial service, go over the list of critical fasteners which require a torque check, remove them one at a time, apply locktite, then retorque. Trust me, you do not want parts coming loose on the highway.
