Default Long trip with or without w/sheild

I'm planning a long trip later this year couple of nights etc. etc. The question I am struggling with do I take the winsheild or leave it at home. I enjoy riding with out it but I know the windsheild helps with fatigue and offers protection (although some) from rain. Then on the other hand it acts like a sail in any crosswinds. Anyway, any suggestions / advice would be appreciated. What would or have you done when planning an overnight trip? Do you leave it at home or ride with it?

I like to have mine any time I'm on the highway. I don't mind eating bugs some are even tasty. But I have had some big rocks thrown up by traffic that would have been a problem with -out it. I need eye drops after a while with or with out it. Maybe its because I'm just getting older but I don't have that beat up feeling after a long trip. What ever helps you to enjoy the trip the most is what I believe in. Have a great trip and enjoy the ride.

Leave it on.

I don't know what your idea of a long trip is, but you can encounter vast changes of weather if you ride all day long.

I would put the wind shield on, but then I leave mine on 90% of the time anyway. The few times I've rode my bike without the wind shield, at speeds over 50 mph, seems like the wind just beats the hell out of me.

You would prefer keeping it on ... much easier on the body over the long haul.

Its a no brainer for me, I'd go for the comfort of a shield.

Take the sheild. Don't worry about crosswinds they are nearly a non-issue.

Lose it! What's the point of riding a bike? Might as well jump in your car.
