Default Update: 07/08 Dyna Speedo/Tach on 06 FXDI

My 4" speedo/tach combo came about a week earlier than it was supposed to.

The question: Will the 07/08 speedo/tach work on am 06?? Answer: YES!!! Yehaw![8D]

What I lost: A bunch of dough

What I gained: a tach, a clock, 6th gear indicator light,600 color options (matches any color HD makes, but black).

120 MPH is now located at 90 degrees/12 o'clock/straight up. Now doing 120 will be more like doing 60 mph, right?

I guess the folks with 07/08 Dynas will still loose a lot of bucks, but only gain the tach, and 600 colors.

I just read Don's post about the dealer putting a 08 St Bob speedo on his 06 under warrenty, and it worked. I have been sweating this purchase for fear it may NOT work.

4" HD speedo/tach p/n for 07/08 Dynas is 74735-07

When it quits raining this weekend, I'll go for a ride,[sm=biker2.gif]and test out the 6th gear indicator light.

Next is to get the nerve to hook up the SERT, and download a new map.

Cool deal Doug!
You could probably check out the 6th gear light in the garage without even starting the bike... ?

Enough with the gauges man ..... we want the Spaghetti bars !!!

Seriously, it's good to know that will work .... I would love all those features. And ... I really do want to see the new bars installed!! I think they are going to look good after the teaser pic you posted.

I don't think so. If anyone knows for sure I'll all ears, but I think the bike has to be in motion to send the 6th gear signal to the light.

If I am correct the 6th gear light works in conjunction with the speed and rpm.

Thanks,

Probably be late autumn or into the winter before you get to see pics of those spaghetti bars (sorry). Gonna have to replace all my cables, etc.......... Gonna cost more bucks, and the bike will have to be down for a few days/weeks??? Can't afford to chance not being able to ride this time of year........... I get real ill, if the sun is out and I can't ride, even in the winter. Riding isjust 1 of those things that HAS to be done.

The speedo came a week early so I screwed myself outa 306 miles, but I'll throw the old speedo ack on for a day or 2 and match the miles back up............ I'm gonna love having a tach.
Gotta put me new brake pads on this weekend, if it's raining.... Got the LRB Gold+.
