Default Fairing Mounted Mirrors

Looking to go with the fairing mounted mirrors on the SG. How do they compare to the handlebar mounted mirrors for vision?

I don't think you will lose to much with your vision. I think that they vibrate less than the handlebar mounts.

Alot of people don't like them. My personal experience is I had a better view with the fairing mounts on my SG than I do with bar mounts on my RG. No matter how I adjust them I find myself having to tuck my arm in to see behind me. With the SG my arms and shoulders never obstructed my view.

They work great.
That being said, if you change your handlebars to say Wild1 Chubby's they may be blocked by your hands or arms.
Im looking for another set of bars to work on my SG and am worried about the Fairing mirrors being blocked.
Then I would wish my inner fairing didnt have those holes. Which yours probably doesnt now.
Just some food for thought.

Kurykan has some extenders with mirrors that attach to the existing holes and extend the mirros out about 5". They also make a windshield trim with mirrors on each side.

I just changed them on my EG. It really cleans up the handlebars. I think the vibration is about the same, only that rather than vibrating at idle, they seem to vibrate at very low speeds, say when down shifting when coming to a stop. Otherwise, I'd say they work and look great.

I have the chubby bars on a custom bagger I'm building and cant' use the fairing mounted mirrors. I got the Kuryakyn mirrors that attach as part of the chrome trim along the top of the fairing. They are a bit small, but they look great and I don't have any problems seeing out of them. Fitment is excellent.

Got the fairing mounted ones on my Electra glide, and love them. Much better then the bar mounted ones.

HD part # 91945-98B says they fit 96-later FLHT and FLHTCU. Was there an inner fairing change in 96? Has anyone installed them on an 05?
