Default CLEAR SADDLEBAG PROTECTORS

I made up nearly 20 sets of 3M clear saddlebag protectors and put them for sale in the classified section at $40 a pair.I got nearly 100 hits but NOT ONE RESPONSE. I don't get it...

Those ugly black saddlebag protectors from HD are about a hundred bucks right?... I put these up there just to generate interest in the product(and a a price which is almost at cost)and I guess there is none...boggles the mind...

Maybe you shouldgive acouple sets to well posted members of the forumin order to gain some endorsement.

I just purchased the less than beautiful black covers because I am confident they will work well... although detract from the beauty of the bike.
I am not sure I am willing to risk 50 bucks on something I hope will work for me.

You may have a GREAT product.... but I need some others to be the test animals before I plunk down the bucks.

Sorry.

Not to say its not well worth the price, but
What kind of Durability characteristics can we expect?
How does it hold up to the elements?
What is the application process?
Couple of different pics from other angles?
Got to market product to the doubtfuls.

That 3M clear film is some pretty tough stuff. The guy simply took sheets of it and cut it the size of saddlebag lids.

The name 3M speaks for itself. The thread starter shouldn't give them away to anyone, nor should he have to "market" the stuff, 3M has already done that.

It's clear, thick, and strong as hell. The only thing you'll be able to notice is the edge of the film.

3m makes a lot of products, there double sided tape is sux. Does that speak for itself. The problem is trying to SELL something new to forum members, that constantly rate and review products for their bikes. Lets look at the facts, 100 people read thread and ZERO sales. What could be wrong? Well maybe hes not marketing or providing the customer enough info. If YOUR theory holds true about the QUALITY of 3M then how can we account for the ZERO sales. I have read countless threads on this forum, DAILY, if they are at this website and are members, they want to know more than the average HD owner. As far as 3M saying "We have a life time Garauntee when used on your Harley" you can bet you wont see that fact. I noticed you stir negative replys a lot, be positive and buy a set from the guy, be the first one out of 100. PROFINISH this forum is tough when it comes to "New products and Ideas". Some go over well and some dont. My .02 to help you sell is, Try the Do It Yourself section, or head straight to Ebay where they are half a million more owners who are more concerned with SAVING money. You could be on to something big if initial costs provide profitable return. There is always room for improvement with some HD products. I think your idea is great, although, some might think different, I would not have SUGGESTED ways to change the 100 to 0 ratio of sales.

Bro... I applaud your inginuity. I remember when you started talking about this on the forumacouple months ago. (https://www.hdforums.com/m_2417443/tm.htm) You have gone and done what you said you would do. That is tremendous.

I just don't know enough about the product and the ad in the classified section doesn't give much detail. I have heard of the 3m clear protection stuff but i don't have any experience with it. Nor do any of my friends.

How easy is it to apply? How difficult is it to remove? Once removed, is it re-usable? How long does it last? Will the sun eventually discolor it?
I couldn't tell from the pics... Does this just cover the larger, flat surfaces? Does it cover the rounded edges and corners?

Those answers would be helpful for me.

Badpiggy... Anyone who wants people to buy their product is required to market it... thats if they want to sell. Profinish is not required to give any of it away... it was just a marketing suggestion. He is obviously a smart guy... he will figure out the best way to get it out there. As far as 3m having done the marketing already... 3m isn't asking me to buy a saddlebag protector. JMHO
