Default And now...the Deuce seat question

The wife needs a solo seat for her Deuce. She's 5'4" and is flat footed with stock seat and stock suspension. Buuuuuuuutttt.....the stock seat needs to be a solo and more comfortable.

Requirements are that it be narrow (at least no wider than stock, especially where inner thighs hit), very comfy and padded, good back support, and under $350. Wife liked her Mustang solo on her Sporty so Mustang is a contender. We saw a picture of a Danny Gray Weekday solo in another thread and that looks good too. HD Brawler solo looks like a 'maybe' but hard we are a little leary - worried it won't be much better than the stock feel. Corbin is definitely NOT going to be a choice here. Every one we have tried has felt like sitting on metal bleachers but with less padding, not to mention the cost.

All suggestions welcome.

Corbin's are hard.......especially at first, but as they break in they stay firm but very supportive. I was worried about my gunfighter but it has been an excellent seat. I've done 350 mile runs only stopping for gas and never got sore. I did a 100 mile run with the stock seat and was sore for 2 days..... and it was much "softer" than the Corbin. Corbin's leather covering is much more durable too IMHO.Don't be leery of the Corbin because it's seems too firm, itWILL, as they state, conform to the rider's anatomy.

Well, we are nearby. Maybe we'll make a road trip to the Corbin Hollister factory and let her try a few. Best way to know for sure is to throw one on her bike and let her try it out. We both have to admit that opinions were formed by trying seats made for other people on their bikes. Could be part of the negative feedback was due in part to the seats being molded to someone else's rump.

I've done many long hour rides on Mustang Wide Vintage. Never sore or numb.

Thanks for the responses. She found a Danny Gray weekday solo with a stitch pattern included.

Our seats require up to around a 1500 to 2000 mile break in period.

They're kind of like a new pair of boots though, once it's broken in, it's broken in and fits your tushy like a glove.

Yep been there, done that but the seat broke me before I could break it. Gave me black and blue bruises on my inner thighs on my first 500 mile day. It was ona Heritage Classic - the kind of Corbin seat with a rider's backrest.

Sold the Corbin and its two backrests on Ebay at a $500 loss, bought a Mustang wide touring and never looked back. What a difference.

The HD Brawler solo seat is nice and I think it's MSRP is $300. Wait till an open house sale and get it even cheaper.

That's why I have never felt comfortable on one then. I've never given it that many miles. Plus, I've been trying to fit my butt into someone else's mold.

I have the Corbin Young Guns on my Deuce and wouldn't trade it.
You sit low on a gel padded seat area and the rise on the back acts like a lumbar support.

I have done 750 mile in the last 3 weeks and feel I could do twice that provided I had the time.
