Had a nother disappointing event with my rhineharts yesterday. Besides the second set of tips turning purple now my rear cylinder pipe is cracked. Thought I had an exhaust leak then I removed the pipe to find a big crack in it. Just can't believe such a great sound comes out of such junk.

I guess I'll weld it and roll on

 

Mine have not cracked... yet, but the tips are certainly a purple, which really doesn't bother me. If and when mine crack, I'll call them etc to see if they will replace and then drop the stock headers back on and just go with slip ons. Good luck.

I've had two sets of RH TD's on two bikes and no problems. Check with RH and see what they say.

 

I just got my tips replaced and i was barely under warranty and now I'm not. I think they will help me out but you'd think as nice as these pipes are and as many as they sell we wouldn't be having all these problems.

 

Could the rear cylinder be running a lil lean, and getting the pipe hotter then it should?

 

I've been hearing that Rinehart stands behind the cracked header pipes even out of warranty. The problem has supposedly been addressed on the pipes they're making now.

I am also on my second set of black...I mean purple exhaust tips. I just posted Rinehart Weld GONE with pics of my broken rear weld. Rinehart will send you another pipe - minimum of two weeks. They did not require me to return the damaged pipe so did have it welded so I could ride. The metal is so thin that it is difficult to weld. This is a common problem with the rear pipe.

Are Rineharts junk? - short answer is YES - we see more problems with their products than any other after market exhaust - just our experience.

 

I've said it before. If someone could bottle that Rinehart sound into a higher quality yet little less expensive pipe they would make a fortune.
