Rocket Harley - Mooresville - Huntsville, Alabama
I am a new 2007 Harley Ultra Classic owner. I am also new to this forum, but I have already got a lot of great information and appreciate the help.
The dealership located closest to me is Rocket Harley Davidson located in Mooresville Alabama close to Huntsville, Alabama.
I would like some input from riders that have used this local Harley dealership.
I have had the following experiences and wonder if they are the exception:
1. Both my nephew and I practically had to beg a sales person to talk to us about buying a bike on more than one occasion. They were not busy, just seemed uninterested.
We both purchased bikes elsewhere shortly after that.
2. It appears to me that they are adding 20-30% to MSRP on most accessories. Is that normal?
3. They seem to be two to three times higher on the 1k, 5k, and 10k services than other dealers. I checked around and drove about 60 miles to save $200. I would have thought that a Harley dealer is a Harley dealer and prices would be about the same. I was wrong.
4. My nephew and I took his down syndrome brother, Doug,to Rockey Harley because he wanted to be like his Harley riding brother. Being a special needs child, we knew a motorcycle was out of the question, but a Harley shirt, hat, etc. would make him feel like his brother and that's what matter to him and us. Well, about five minutes before closing time, they started turning off the lights. I am serious, they actually turned off the lights inside the dealership with us inside.
I think number 4 did it for us. We'll get Doug some Harley stuff from another dealership.
But to be fair, I would like to hear from other folks.
I am hoping that my experiences are not the norm.

Sounds a bit like too many dealerships actually, I had the lights turned out on me too. And they all are "stealers" when it comes to prices! But in Connecticut TSI HD in Ellington and Columbiaare good and I hear Ocean in Rhode Island is good... In fact a better idea is to just turn on fellow listers to good dealerships we have dealt with... or know about.

I would of asked to see the manager and ask them why their bikes are so high. I would complain about it to him .

My local dealers, which happened to be owned by the same guy (Chattahoochee HD, Columbus GA and Big Swamp HD, Opelika AL) take pretty good care of their customers, in my experience.
The local metric dealership is where you get treated badly.

i live near this dealer and have tried to buy there 4 times. Huntsville residents (Redstone Arsenal employees and contractors) have deep pockets and don't travel to save money often. this dealer sells you by the "look at the payment" not "look at the price". Rider's in Birmingham is good, Bumpus in Murphreesboro is better. Boswell's in Nashville is great too. rocket's accessories are normal price and i'm not above buying from them but i won't buy my next bike from them.

I have bought 3 bikes from them in the last 4 years. Only bad experience I had with them was my last service which is still unresolved. They have always been good to me and have always worked with me on the price. I have noticed that lately they have had alot of new sales people in there though. Not sure for the reason but everytime I go in they have new folks. That still dont mean they shouldnt help a customer. If you ever go in again ask for Cliff. Been there ahile and a great guy to deal with.
