I was doing a tight turn at about 2 miles an hour and DROPPED MY BIKE!! Thank goodness I have the engine guard and the saddlebag guard rails that come standard with the bike, I only mad some very un-noticable scrathes on the bottom of the rails....whew. It was a bit*h to pick up though.

 

They say there are those that have and those that will.I dropped my RK before.It's amazing what you can lift when you have too.

 

Sorry to hear that- glad you didn't do any serious damage. I've never dropped mine- knock on wood.

In the "Ride Like a Pro" video they show you how to easily pick up a big bike. They even show a tiny 90 lb. girl picking up a 800 lb. Electra Glide by herself with no sweat. Good info to have...

A buddy of mine was driving through the "Gauntlet" (two rows of people left and right) with his old lady on the back. He was being initiated into a MC club.
Half way down the row he goes to wave or something and dumps the bike into the dirt going like 10mph. A huge dust cloud covers everyone.

His club name went from Axe... to "Dusty" in a matter of seconds...

Yeah.. Had to be there...

Anyway..Buy Ride Like a Pro. That'll get your low speed manuvering fixed up...

Thank God for engine guards! Hope I never drop mine but If/when I do, my guards are ready!

 

Plopped my Ultra over at very slow speed with the wife on back.When my buddy ran over to help I already had the 850lb. beast upright.No damage to bike or wife only my pride was damaged.

 

I've been tempted to take the bag guards off...I love the clean look....but I know that as soon as remove them the bike will be laying on its side.

 

Dropped my Road King three times, twice on sharp (slow speed) turns and once slamming on the brakes when a lady pulled out in front of me; lucky I wasn't going over25 mph and didn't hit her (thank God for crash bars, they saved mybike & I from injury each & every time). I had the handlebars chaged from stock to Heritage Classic bars & have less control on slow speed turns, so I'm going to change to the Chubbys RK II 518s. The Riders Edge video is supposed to be very informative, which we could all learn from reguardless of how long we've been riding; as far as trying to lift an 800 pound plus bike by your self without getting hurt, I wouldn't recommend it (turn off the engine & wait for help).

 

all yall will eventually drop your bike....i recently dropped mine with wifey aboard....held it as best i could til the last minute and then...WHAM...it hammerslammed me on the ground....gave me two fractures on top of my tibia or fibia(the bone on the outside of your lower leg)...made the rest of the week with a limp...startin to heal now....nope no cast as my doc said it'd still hurt and a cast would just **** me off...i opted to just grunt it out....when you fella's load up your bike for a trip get the extra weight down low, it will help in slow speed manuevers....mine was on an incline in a pea gravel lot and i tryed to adjust my line too early ... i also think wifey readjusted her seating position at the same time....WHAMMO

i'm a very strong man an that damn loaded up bike was was heavy, especially with a hurt leg

 

Fell over at a stop sign, had my 12 year old son on back and I only put the left foot down and he decided to readjust in the seat and we ploped over before I could get my right foot off the floor board to stop us. Looked like the trike guy from laugh in(you older guys remember that I'm sure). Broken front brake lever was all. Good lesson, stop = both feet on ground now.
