Funny moment riding in the rain...
Sorry about the long post, but had to get this posted...
It's been raining on/off everyday this week and it's really effecting my saddle time.
Today being Saturday, I figured I'd squeeze ina pleasure ride.
Backing out of my garage it starts to drizzle.
"F-it"I say.
I'm desperate for a ride so I keep on going.
Less than a mile from my home I've just got on the hwy and boom, here comes the rain!
I mean, this was a good old fashion drencher.
"F-it" I say.
I'm already wet, can't get much wetter, so I keep going.
I wind up only riding for an hour because the rain is not letting up even a little and I'm thinking "at least I got a ride in today".
Well just off the hwy when I'm getting back into my neighborhood, I'm stopped first at a red light.Sitting first in an oncoming lane is a guy on a Softail. He's as wet as I am.
Don't know who smiles first, but we give each other the biggest chit-eating grin.
He then points to the sky and flips the clouds the bird.
I do the same in return just as the light turns green.
Passing each other off the lightwe each give the 2-fingers down and we're both still wearing that chit-eating grin. I'm guessing he was on a joy-ride too. Nowhere to go in particular and but the damn rain wouldn't keep us off the bikes. Feel like I saw a soul-mate on the road today. One that, for a moment, thought, "Screw you mother-nature, I'm gonna ride".
I home now and thinking, "hell, I might be an idiot for joy riding in this weather, but at least I've got company".
If that guys on this forum, "Cheers to you...many more happy miles, and hope all went well getting home today, bro!"

I had exactly the same experience once except it was at 14 degrees in a snow storm. It is a memory to hold onto.

I know I'm different. Riding in the rain just means trying to wear the right clothes to stay dry, which keeps it fun though I keep it more straight up, and give it more time to accelerate and slow down. But I don't pay any attention to the weatherman unless it's around freezing.

LOL.
Nah! I'm not a redneck.
Like CyclChykguessed, I think I'm just a bit "loco".
