Default 1/4 Fairing looks great!

Stopped by the dealer in St. Petersburg, VA last week and saw one of the HD 1/4 fairings (color-matched) mounted on a Sporty. Really liked the look and have been wanting one for my 06 Dyna, but did not want to buy one first without knowing, 1) if it would fit, & 2) how it would look. Just a matter of hardware for the 49mm forks. Next on my list, but first goyya get the chrome cases.

The fairing is not a direct bolt-on for 06 and later forks. When I put mine on, I used spacers between the inner and outer brackets, used kuryaken fork clamps, cut recesses in the fairing, and modified the mountings to new clamps. The stock mounting kit will do nothing for you.

Were the recesses for the fork legs? I'd love to see a pic of yours from the mounting location.

Check out the pictures and captions.

The recesses I cut were actually in the fairing. These are older pictures and I had not done ityet.

I do not currently have it on the bike now thanks to someone that cut in front of me at a light.

I miss having it on because it does a good job taking the wind off my chest while on the highway.

If you have any other questions fell free to PM me.

I suppose if one had a QD windshield you could mod it to take the 1/4 fairing rather than the lexan. The clamping apparatus is easily taken off .... one bolt holds each of the clamps on respectively.

Nice "Sport-Touring" effect there, Icecaps...I sure like the wind protection I get from my fairing; just whatI need on a warm summer day at speed...how do you like the HD hard bags on your Dyna? Are they a good solid mount? Do they mount just to the fender strut? 2 point or 3 point mount?
