It's essentially changing all the fluids and oil filter, cleaning the air filter element, checking the torque on critical fasteners (motor mount bolts, frame bolts, brake caliper bolts), inspecting the brake pads, inspecting the brake, fuel and oil lines/fittings for leaks. Checking the brake fluid levels, inspecting the tires, greasing the steeringhead bearing, checking the clutch adjustment, inspect exhaust system for leaks, inspect the drive belt condition and tension, inspect and lube the jiffy stand if necessary, check operation of the electrical switches, lights, etc.

Every rider should have a service manual. Period. Changing fluids is easy, it saves money better spent on chrome, alcohol, or whatever, and it gets you to know your bike. I am amazed at supposedly big boy Harley riders that act like a girl when it comes to maintaining it. Disgusted, actually. Man up and change your frigging oil!
