The sideplates fit between the strut and the fender. There is a plate on the inside of the fender that holds on the turn signal on one end and is threaded on the other end and helps attach the chrome strut cover with a torx 45 bolt from the outside of the strut. Just pull the inner plate back, "towards the tire", and the slide in the sideplate being sure not to pinch the turn signal wire, and the push the plate back in and it will sit into the holes on the side plate. Then just screw the torx 45 bolt back in and bolt the turn signal bolt back up as well. Hopefully I didnt confuse you too much.

If it's like the 06 the front bolt is easy, the rear bolt that bolts into the taillight is long enough that it's hard to remove with out lowering the tire out of the way. Best thing to do is slot out the rear bolt hole and the hole for the taillight wires so you can just drop it in place by just loosening the bolt without removing it.

Good Luck

Tom

No, the plates do not fit flush on the fender. There are some spacers that keep you from bolting the sideplate directly to the fender. When I put mine on one of the washers (spacers) came off and the other stayed attached to the fender.
