Choochoo- I am with you in that the dealer should stand by their work and fix the bike or give you a new engine if they did the work themselves with products they sell.

Hey Choochoo.. I'm getting the feeling that you are not totally happy with your 06 flhtci right now. Has the dealer offered to let you try another set of mufflers (the ones that they say would be the right ones) just for S&G's to see if it changes anything? I definitely know what you're saying about it running fine for the first 6 months, but what the hell have you got to lose... You know that in your heart you're a Harley man so once you calm down and figure out just what you're going to have to do to either fix it or f*&k it, let us all know how it turns out for you. We feel your pain man......glp

Did you inquire if anyone else had a similar setup in the other pertinent areas in this forum and the other Harley forums? If not, you might try that and see if there are any other problems out there.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Many states have "lemon" laws. You previously expressed interest in pursuing litigation against HD on a products liability basis. Perhaps you should look at, if you haven't already, legal remedies under an applicable "lemon" law. Seems as though you meet the requirements of typical lemonlaws in that you have twice brought the bike in forwarranty work, gave the MOCO an opportunity to fix the problem (which they apparently, based on your earlier post confirmed), and it remains unfixed. Just a thought.

Someone else asked - an' I agree - why not see if they have a set of loaners to try the "fix" with? It may well be that you've got internal issues in those mufflers, no matter how new they might be, and this would at least address that possibility.

As to someone else being at fault because you "had to ditch" when ya lost power in a pass...I doubt that dog is gonna hunt, bud. If you had enough room to cross the lane to git ta the ditch, ya had 'nuff room ta git in the lane an' stay there...
