Default My Official "Ultimate Street Glide" Thread UPDATED 2/21/07

I've been getting a few PM'srequesting pics of my progress lately so I decided to just merge it all into one thread. I'll post additional pics as the progress continues.

I've been waiting for the coldest part of the year to perform all of my mods. No need to miss out on good riding weather. It's been below 30 degrees for a couple of weeks so it looks like I timed it just right.

Earlier this week I swapped out the stock 5 speed for a Baker DD6 6 speed. Here is the link with a few pictures:

https://www.hdforums.com/m_1256052/tm.htm

The mods that I still have left to do is install a GMR Stage II kit. It include the famous 98" pistons/cylinders netting 10:5:1 compression. I'll be running a .585/.615 gear drive cam, adjustable pushrods, roller rockers, new lifters, welded and CNC ported heads. Right now I am waiting on the cams, gears and heads to arrive. The engine will be complimented with a new set of D&D Fat Cats 2 into 1 exhaust.

My clutch setup will consits of a SE clutch spring and a VPC-92T. This should prevent the clutch from slipping.

I will be installing the ThunderMax with Autotune for my engine management. This is due to arrive within a week.

Thanks to BountyHunter I bought a set of 18 x 3.50 chrome billet wheels with matching rotors. I'll be running a set of Avon Venoms on them.

Last week I bought a new SE Ultra leather Tour Pack on eBay for $560. Well it arrived in the mail today along with the docking station. Took me about 40 minutes to install everything. I am still waiting on the backrestkit to arrive. I still need to pick up a few small items like the lock, cable and liners for it. I also need to find a plug for the rear holes where the antennas normally go. Here are a few pictures after installed:

I ordered the HogTunes Ultra Sound from Pez to allow rear speakers. I already have their speakers in the front. This kit comes with the rear speaker pods, speakers, wiring and an amp. Here is a link:
http://www.hogtunes.com/ultrasound.htm

My last two mods will be installing a hidden antenna inside of the fairing and also wiring up my garage door opener to a switch on the bike.

Like mentioned before, I'll be posting additional pictures as progress is made.

Would have been one hell of a lot easier to trade for a new 110" CVO!

Easier, YES. Cheaper, NO (Don't owe anything on the SG). Besides, doing your own work is 1/2 the fun and it'll outrun that 110".

Holy chit!!! How you managed a deal like that on the tour pak is beyond me. What is wrong with it??? I have been watching ebay for one for a while and they typically get $800 or more.

Where the heck do you get all your money? JMHO, but I think a tour pak that matched your bags would've looked a little better. Guess it would have to grow on me.

No damage, it's perfect! I was surprised as well. I think part of it was because the seller didn't post a picture of it on the main page, only the link. Once you clicked on the link, you saw the pics. Only 57 views for this item and I made 1/2 of them. Today I removed the original tags off of it that HD put on it. Not bad for my 1st eBay purchase.

It's called living in a combat zone last year.

I wanted to look different than others. Don't see too many leather packs out there.
