Anyone heard of swapping an electraglide fairing for a roadglide fairing setup? Besides cost, wiring issues? Mounting issues?

I love my 00 elgide paint (aztec orange) Not interested in going for newer paint schemes, but interested in roadglide vice the eglide fairing.

 

Costly but possible...just source all the correct parts.

 

Someone did this about 6-9 months ago on here. It might show up on search.

I'd like to buy a new Eglide and do the conversion, but my wallet and my wife both say HELL NO!

 

no easy way to do it.more practical to trade bikes. roadglide instruments are not all in the fairing as in electraglide. lots of dollars and work. then you have neither an electraglide nor roadglide. BUT i never expect to get bacl all i put in my bikes or hot rods. put $5K into a $5K purchased rod for $10K total, sell for $5K, done good!!!

 

This would be a good project for one of the salvege title bikes you find on EBAY...

 

actually a very easy job, if you are willing to do the work. There are several of here on the forum who have do this swap and have turned out very nice - all guages fit just fine - they are the same. I bought all my items from chicago harley 20% off list No sales tax and NO shipping. I did the swap for less than I could have done a straight across trade - in Ca we pay sales tax even if you and I trade bikes and NO money - the Tax is on what DMV declares the value to be. If Beemer does some looking around or wait for the builders to post, you will see some really nice jobs and these bikes have a Black/Chrome engine - which a stock RG does not have.

Thanks guys, i did try the search using eglide electraglide/roadglide fairing etc, all came back negative. i am in email contact with alazlo, this could happen.


Do you need to change handlebars? Mine seem fine as is. Also, anybody know what a factory aztec orange diamond ice paintjob would cost?

 

anybody have a good contact for chicago HD, their website is not working?
