Street light signal changer for motorcycle?
I went downtown to Eyeglass World to have my wife's glasses repaired. I didn't trip the signal changer while I was waiting to make a left, across a busy intersection. Had to run the light or I would still be there.
On the way home had the same problem.
I read where you can put something on the bike that will trip the sensor at the light. Does anyone use one of these things. Does it have to be wired into the bike? Where do you install it?
Thanks,
Tom

RE: Street light signal changer for motorcycle?
I have a signal trip unit on two out of 3 of my motorcycles, the one without one I get stuck at 4 real PITA lights, the other two motorcycles with the light trigger on them get green lights every time.
So if anyone tells you they don't work (just smile)

Thanks for the link. It appears to me that they recommend the G-4 model, even though the other model states for motorcycles also. Are you using one of these models?
211Chuck,
What brand signal tripper do you use?
They really brag about how powerful a magnet it is. I wonder if it will attract nails, screws, etc. toward your rear tire? It looks to me that the metal cross support, just rear of the shocks, would be the ideal place to mount the signal changer.
Unless there is a post concerning another similar product, I will order one in the morning. They are only $20.00 not counting shipping fees.

RE: Street light signal changer for motorcycle?
I use the SS-1 and the real old one in a plastic box, sorry don't remember the part# but they don't make it anymore anyways.
I have a new SS-1 for my Ultra, I just have not put it on yet, but I will before this weekends ride as I have to deal with those 4 PITA lights riding up to the Blue Ridge mountains!
BTW: Motorcycle shops around Charlotte NC. have them on their walls for sale so we have no need to mail order them...
You will love it,money well spent IMO!
