Chrome Rotors?

RE: Chrome Rotors?
Better to get polished rotors than chrome. OK for the center to be chromed but the pad surface will wear through the chrome eventually and that leaves an open edge on the chrome which could peel then. I believe Kevlar pads like from LRB would be the ones to use on chrome if you must. They can give you better advice if you contact them, real good guys, family operation. Paul SR & JR

RE: Chrome Rotors?
Thanks, Brian. I was going to polish the stock rotors, though I was concerned by how much those stock pads have torn up the rotor and leave black dust everywhere. I came across these on eBay, and while the rotor surface is chrome (not really what I wanted), the price for a pair of floating rotors was just too good to pass up. They're darn nice looking too. I'll certainly take your good advice on the pads. If these things turn out to be junk, I'll post a report.

RE: Chrome Rotors?
Well, it took some doing, first getting the proper set and then getting chrome rotor bolts that would fit into the countersink part of the front rotor, but they're on now and it makes quite a difference in appearance. The Lyndall pads work just as they say they do.
I gotta thank Joe at American Classic Motors in Zieglerville, PA for getting it right at their expense. Those folks are great.
The photos really don't do them justice, but you can get the idea:
By the way, the center piece is chrome but the rotor brake surface appears to be polished stainless, thought it's darn hard to tell the difference.
