Heated Gloves, how hot?

Heated Gloves, how hot?
Hi I just got a pair of Gerbing heated G4 Gloves and used them today. I rode about an hour and it was 42* out. The gloves were kinda warm when on full wide open after about 30min of rideing arround 50MPH. NOT hot, not real toasty, just kinda warm. And the right hand thumb was COLD! My Harley heated jacket liner was on just above low and was toasty warm.
this is the second pair of these gloves, I had to return the first pair cause the left glove was tight and would put my left hand to sleep in 10 min while the right fit perfect. But the left was tight cause wires were lose in them and had slid arround to the bottom side of the fingers and pinch the blood flow off. You could feel the wires move arround in them.
this second pair dosn't put my hand to sleep, but they just don't seem very warm either. I mean if they arnt hot in 42* weather then in the mid 30s they will be almost cold! and the cold thumb seems like a deal killer nfor $169.00 pair of gloves!!!.
I was wondering how you alls gloves are working out??

Try the gloves without the jacket. Its unlikely but possible that the alternator isn't putting out enough juice to heat up both adequately. If the gloves are still cold when running them by themselves I'd bring them back.

Bought a pair 3 weeks ago. I LOVE them. No, they don't get HOT...but they keep me warm in weather as low as 35 degrees so far. I ride 50 miles one way to work, with the gloves and a heated vest. No problems at all. The vest is too hot. I have to dail it down, or I start sweating.

send the gloves back and tell them you want these repaired or replaced, and you want someone to test them before they are sent back - I have had a few sets of these, and just call first, tell them what's happening (no heat / not enough heat), and they will send you a decent set or repair right - you should not be able to keep them on high heat in 42* - they will get very hot, just like the pants, socks, and vests. When they don't get you sweating in cold weather, they are broke, and don't let them BS you into believing anything else - when they work right, they are great - I used them in 0* and they keep me warm, with no problem, and the same for my wife - I have never bought a set of these that I did not have to send back because they were not hot enough, or no heat at all, and they always sent back something that worked great (only bad part - took about 4 weeks for getting replacements back to me)

I don't know how long you've been riding motorcycles or where you live
but after you have rode over 100,000 miles and been through all the junk
people sell out there you will find out that Gerbing gloves are junk if you
put the miles on them unlike the guys that ride in cold 3 or 4 times a year
to the local biker bar.
Widder gloves will burn your hands (I mean leave marks) if you run them
wide open at anything over 20 degrees. They are not only warmer and last
much longer then Gerbing gloves they draw less then half the AMP's their
also water proof which is handy in cold rain.
Try reading this web sight, read between the lines and make your own
decisions http://www.motorcyclegearreview.com/ as my opinion does
not have that much more value then anyone elses other then I ride in
all weather 365 days a year and have rode well over 1 million miles on
motorcycles in 40+ years inclueding all winter in Canada for many years
before moving south to the U.S.
I don't like Gerbing gear none of it, mainly because of over pricing and
very high AMP draw compared to other brands out there. Thats just my
opinion, but it is coming from a Canadian who rides 50 to 100,000 miles
a year no matter what the weather is! Theres nothing like riding in
20 to 40 below zero with 6 inchs of ice on the roads in the winter in
Canada every winter, every day,all winter to teach you about cold
weather riding on a motorcycle and thats why I moved south LOL"
I hope my link will help you even with future purchases of riding gear
and I wish you Good Luck with your problem my friend..
