Birthday Surprise

Harley-Davidson, as we're all well aware, is about more than just motorcycles - in fact, this is a brand that's been around for well over a century for some very good reasons. Harley simply resonates with a lot of folks who love the wind-in-your-hair, free feeling that comes from cruising around the country in the best way possible. Thus, it's no surprise that UK resident Leonie Fidler had always wanted to take a ride on one - and she got to finally do precisely that on her 83rd birthday, according to BBC News.

Special Occasion

Fidler's daughters - Jade Fidler and Diane Gannon - reached out to the folks at North West Bikers Cumbria for help with this particular birthday present, and that group was more than happy to oblige. In fact, a whopping 80 bikers showed up for the occasion, and as one might imagine, it was a special day for all involved.

Great Day's Ride

The group wound up riding from Cockermouth to Keswick and all the way back in what proved to be a fantastic day - not just for the group of motorcycle enthusiasts, but also for Fidler. "We thought it'd be a good thing to get a few bikes out and make it a bit of a memorable day for them," said biker Daniel Highton.

Special Day

However, there were several other things that took place on this special day that made it even more, well, special. For starters, Fidler knew that she was going to take a ride on the back of a Harley, but she had no idea that a whopping 80 people would show up to support her. Additionally, Gannon was recently diagnosed with a terminal illness, so being able to see her mom do something that makes her so happy was quite special for her as well.

First, But Not Last?

Fidler clearly couldn't stop smiling on this special day, and she was even able to enjoy a pint with her newfound friends at the end of it. However, while this was her very first motorcycle ride, somehow, we doubt that it will be her last - even though Fidler is considering taking a hot air balloon ride next year.
