Two Becomes Four with Super Classic Conversion
Bolt-on platform offers stability through Formula One racing technology.
Softail Package
A four-wheeled Harley-Davidson usually brings to mind the Bar & Shield branded F-150, but not in this case. Designed using Formula One racing technology, the Q4 Quad Conversion from Q-Tec Engineering turns almost any Big Twin Softail into a stable, four-wheel platform. Taking it one step further, the Q4 package is bolt-on, with no modifications required.

Straight Configuration
The Motor Company has a long history of three-wheelers, dating back to the 1912 Motorcycle Truck. That concept became the Package Truck, which morphed into the Servi-Car and eventually the Freewheeler and Tri Glide of today. While all good designs, Q-Tec Engineering builds on the concept with independent suspension for each wheel, as opposed to Harley Davidson's straight axle configuration.
Control Kit
Available through American Bike and Trike in Gilbert, Arizona, the Quad Conversion is fittingly offered in four different flavors. The hot rod-inspired Q4 is the trimmest of the line, with its fenders mounted to control arms, they go up and down with the tires. The kit includes a large luggage rack and a proprietary exhaust.
Hauling Capacity
The Q4 Mamuth borrows styling cues from the Harley Davidson Tri Glide. The rear body kit comes with integrated fenders, lockable storage and built-in LED lighting. Boosting the luggage capacity is a Tour-Pak mount, an option also available on the Q4. The Mamuth can also be equipped with a tow hitch for trailer hauling and a mechanical reverse system.
Tubular Enhancements
With its wide, meaty tires, the Super Q kit looks like Q-Tec Engineering's muscle bike package. Tubular bumpers add to the tough stance. Like the other Q-Tec options, a Tour-Pak, tow hitch, and mechanical reverse are also available. With attention turned towards ADV bikes these days, the Super Q seems to be a prime candidate for some off-road enhancements.
Box Car
The Super Q Classic Quad Conversion is the darling of the bunch, with its retro-styled, throwback design. Similar to the Super Q in setup, the Classic incorporates a metal box instead of a formed fiberglass unit. Q-Tec Engineering calls it a “modern interpretation of the classic Servi-Car.” Like the Q4, the fenders bolt onto the control arms and go up and down with the tires.
Award Option
A four-wheel Harley-Davidson might seem a bit wacky, but Q-Tec Engineering is unabashedly proud of their design. They state, “The concept is a high-quality product that can be considered the 'Rolls-Royce' of the trikes and quads.” The Quad Conversion has also proven to be a popular option, winning the 'People’s Choice' award at Daytona Bike Week in 2017.
Donor Value
Rigorously tested and Euro-Spec approved, Quad Conversion bikes excel at handling. Unlike three-wheelers, the quads can be thrown into corners without fear of roll-overs thanks to their four-wheel independent suspension. Unlike other kits, they also maintain the value of the donor Harley-Davidson. For an in-depth introduction to the Q-Tec system, check out their Tour Around The Shop video on YouTube.
