Thunderbike Builds Brutally Stylish Custom Harley-Davidson Breakout
With its unique Grand Prix parts, striking wheels, and sleek color scheme, the Razor 6.0 is a bold, custom take on a classic cruiser.
Razor Custom Harley-Davidson Breakout 6.0
For enthusiasts, the Harley-Davidson Breakout is likely a familiar name. This cruiser, known for its powerful engine and gleaming chrome, is also famous for its customization potential. Now, the Razor 6.0 by Thunderbike adds a new dimension to the Breakout with a range of custom modifications.
A New Approach to Harley Customization
Although Harley-Davidson offers various factory customization options, many riders prefer to go further. That's where custom shops like Thunderbike come into play. Over the years, Thunderbike has earned a reputation for transforming Harley-Davidsons, particularly Breakouts, into something entirely different. Their customizations have grown so extensive that some of their projects now belong to distinct families, one of which is known as the Razor.
Introducing the Razor 6.0
The Razor series is defined by Thunderbike's in-house Grand Prix parts, including an aluminum fuel tank, rear fender, and a modified seat and handlebars. One standout feature of the Razor 6.0 is its triple tree, designed with an extra three degrees of rake, enhancing both its sporty aesthetic and handling capabilities. Thunderbike’s adjustments to these parts aim to offer improved performance, while also giving the bike a sleeker, more aggressive look.
Wheels and Braking
Wheels play a significant role in the Razor 6.0’s distinct appearance. The bike is equipped with a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel—dimensions similar to the stock Breakout—but covered by aftermarket fenders. These wheels, from Thunderbike's "Vegas Cut" line, are notable for their straight-spoke design and a unique feature on the rear wheel.
A Sleek Look
The rear brake disc has been increasing in size from 300 mm to 340 mm. Thunderbike's engineers managed to visually tuck the disk away, at least when looking at it from the left side, offering a more streamlined appearance without compromising performance. The wheels are paired with a custom suspension system from the Hyperpro range, ensuring smoother rides.
Maintaining the Heart of the Beast
The custom work uses the heart of the beast as a core, which means the Razor 6.0 retains Harley's original Milwaukee-Eight 114 V-twin engine. This powerhouse of a motor delivers 101 horsepower and 123 ft-lb of torque, ensuring the Razor doesn't just look fierce but performs well on the road. However, Thunderbike did make some changes to the hardware surrounding the engine. A Screamin’ Eagle air filter and KessTech mufflers over a custom exhaust system contribute to both performance and style.
Striking Yet Subtle Design
Thunderbike has chosen a refined color scheme for the Razor 6.0, opting for dark shades of red and blue that subtly contrast and complement each other. This toned-down yet aggressive color palette matches the Razor’s overall aesthetic, further emphasizing its sleek, sporty look.
