True Throwback

There was a time, not terribly long ago when gold was all the rage. We all wore gold chains and various other pieces of jewelry finished in that particular hue, which was a symbol of wealth for some time. Gold has since fallen out of favor a bit, but it's making a mini comeback courtesy of this very cool 1949 Harley-Davidson built by the folks at SLC Motorbikes in Switzerland, which is up for grabs at Motoscout.

Real Thing

According to the seller, this vintage bike is fitted with real gold components, which at least makes it a bit more valuable as it sits. Personally, though we aren't necessarily huge fans of gold, the color does look quite good on this particular bike, but its timeless lines certainly don't hurt, either.

Modern Power

This old ride is now powered by a 96-inch S&S Superstock engine, which should make it quite a bit more potent than the original powerplant, and it's also been treated to an S&S carburetor and air filter, as well as an Accel Super Coil ignition.

Old Fashioned

This vintage bike is a kick starter, which is quite fitting, and is also equipped with an Open Belt primary drive, as well as a set of HPU spoke wheels finished in - you guessed it - gold. Of course, there are loads of other gold accents throughout the build that drive that point home, too.

Price Is Right?

With just 304 miles on the new motor, this build is pretty fresh, and it touts an asking price of around USD 48k. Given the attention to detail here and the high-priced components used on the build, that figure certainly doesn't seem too terribly high, but as of this writing, nobody has taken the plunge just yet.
