Enticing Alternative
When the Harley-Davidson Low Rider ST debuted earlier this year, it was an instant hit among shoppers, as CEO Jochen Zeitz noted that "demand was so high for this bike that we sold out our first consumer allocation in 10 minutes." However, not everyone was a fan of the model's FXRT-inspired fairing or the fact that there are only two color choices - Vivid Black and Gunship Gray. Turns out, there may be a new variant on the way that offers an enticing alternative, however.

Revealing Filings
The "Low Rider El Diablo" name popped up recently in a vehicle emissions certification from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Germany's Federal Transport Authority according to Motorcycle.com, seemingly confirming that another variant of the Low Rider is in fact in the works.

Shade of Red?
While the filings don't offer up too many details about this new model, they do note that it will be powered by the same Milwaukee-Eight 117 present in the Low Rider S and ST. Given the El Diablo name, however, it seems only fitting if the bike is offered in some shade of red.

New Combination
Adding fuel to the fire is the fact that MoCo's 2022 service parts paint codes show a brand new color combination dubbed "Midnight Crimson/Nebula Red," which has yet to be available on any current Harley model, though Midnight Crimson is available by itself on some bikes.

Possible Icon
As for the El Diablo name, it doesn't have any obvious ties to H-D history. However, it is possible that the Low Rider El Diablo will serve as this year's Icons model, paying homage to the FXRT Sport Glide from the 1980s, which presented a similar look.

Pure Speculation
Harley's Icons Collection launched back in 2021 with the Electra Glide Revival, a limited-edition model inspired by the 1969 Electra Glide. It's pure speculation at this point that the El Diablo might join that group, but it would make perfect sense.

Taking Advantage
Regardless, the Low Rider El Diablo seems destined to join Harley's lineup at some point soon, giving riders another solid choice in an ever-expanding series of new offerings. Plus, it will certainly help H-D capitalize on the early success of the Low Rider ST, too.
