Worldwide Appeal

While Harley-Davidson is a distinctly American entity, the appeal of the iconic brand has spread to the furthest reaches of the globe. Turns out, people from all sorts of places appreciate classically-styled, non-apologetic two-wheelers as much as we do, and that has also led to the creation of quite a few custom shops churning out world-class builds in places other than America - like Punjab's Rebel Customs, which hails from India.

Perfect Market

India is one of the largest two-wheel markets on the planet, so it makes perfect sense that Harley would be a big hit there. With a high population and horrific traffic, India is the perfect place to zip around town on a motorcycle, and as one might imagine, those with the means like to ride something a bit nicer than the average bike.

The Real Thing

Royal Enfield has a huge share of the Indian market, but in many cases, people like to modify those bikes to look like Harleys - a testament to how iconic that brand truly is. However, Rebel Customs likes to work on the real thing, though they obviously won't turn away other brands, either.

Cool Details

There are a variety of projects in the Rebel shop, as we can see in the video, including a Street 750 that's in progress. However, only the keen-eyed Harley fan would even know that now, as the bike has been heavily customized, with cool details like a fuel tank that's been relocated underneath the seat.

Custom Bits

Other goodies present on that particular build include an air suspension that was made in-house, an upgraded exhaust, swing arm, chassis, handlebars, and many other details, including a set of custom wheels and brakes that were imported into India for this build specifically.

Other Builds

Rebel is also working on another Street 750 that we can see in the clip that rides on a more conventional suspension setup, as well as an 883 Sportster that was built five years ago, but has made its way back to the shop for detail before it heads out onto the show circuit.

Broad Appeal

There are many other in-progress builds in the shop - both from Harley and other brands - as we can see in the video, but all of them share one thing in common - they're high quality enough to go toe-to-toe with the best builders from around the planet. And if that isn't a testament to Harley's broad appeal, well, we don't know what is.
