Nobody Wants Johnny Depp's 'Cry Baby' Harley
This movie bike failed to attract a single bid at auction.
Zero Interest
Typically, movie vehicles are hot commodities, with some of the more notable examples going for huge money at auction. This is true of many Harley-Davidson motorcycles throughout history, particularly ones that starred in popular flicks like Easy Rider. However, the 1955 Harley Model K ridden by Johnny Depp in the 1990 film Cry Baby failed to attract a single bid when it went up for grabs at GWS Auctions.

Typical Plotline
While it wasn't the most critically-acclaimed flick of all time, Cry Baby was a bit of a cult classic, starring the quite famous actor as a girl magnet that could attract them by shedding a single tear. The rest of the movie plays out as one might imagine, with Depp playing the bad boy who falls in love with the good girl and fights her ex-boyfriend when he confronts him.

Climactic Scene
Following that climactic scene, Depp crashes his Harley and it catches on fire in a pretty dramatic way. Regardless, multiple bikes were used in the movie's filming, and this one is in pretty fantastic condition since it obviously wasn't wrecked or set on fire.

Life After Film
Once filming wrapped up, Josh Spring - which worked as Best Boy Electric on the set - purchased this 1955 Harley K, though it was most recently on display at an automotive museum in Branson, Missouri. It's also been featured at the Philadelphia Auto Show to boot, giving it a bit more prominence.

Road Worthy
Though it has its fair share of patina and it's been sitting around for quite a few years, this old bike reportedly rides and runs quite well, and it has been fitted with a speedometer and a chain guard to make it a bit more road-worthy. It also comes with two letters of provenance to prove that it's more than just some average old Harley as well.

High Asking Price
Regardless, the first time it crossed the block, this bike failed to attract a single bid, though there's probably a good reason for that. The reserve price was set at a whopping $250,000, and bids were set at $25,000 increments - way more than the bike is likely worth.

Still Seeking
The second time around, bid increments were set at $5,000, though it's unclear if the reserve price changed. This particular model also isn't terribly valuable or highly sought after by collectors, so that probably played a role in this lack of interest as well. Regardless, Johnny Depp's old Harley K is still seemingly up for grabs, though it'll be interesting to see just how much the seller can get for it.
