Reviving a Trend

There was a time when gold was all the rage. Everybody wanted some, Mr. T wore a lot of it, and excessive amounts of the stuff meant that you had made it in life. Those days are long gone, however, but this interesting build from Thunderbike, dubbed "Golden Lowrider" looks like it's trying to revive that old trend.

Low Slung

Whether you like gold or loathe it, the basic shape of this bike is certainly hard to debate. Its custom frame and truckload of corresponding Thunderbike and aftermarket parts looks pretty sweet and low slung, and Kruse Design did a nice job of coating it all in a eye-grabbing paint job, too.

Plenty of Options

The frame itself is Thunderbike's Lowrider piece, which makes sense - no hidden meanings here. The frame is designed to hold either Twin Cam B or Evo-style engines, though Thunderbike offers setups for just about any kind of Harley you can imagine.

Riding on Air

To get this two-wheeled creation as close to the ground as possible, Thunderbike installed an air suspension, which is great for both show and go. Drop it on the ground while you're trying to collect trophies, then air it up a little so you can actually ride this thing on real roads.

Worth Its Weight

Adding to the low slung look is a Radical Springer fork, which is also adjustable using air pressure. As is, it makes the bike longer and leaner in appearance, which makes it worth its weight in, shall we say, gold?

Nicely Integrated

Other notable details here include an NH-Power open primary drive setup and Motogadget tachometer, which is integrated into the handlebars for a seamless look. That sort of thing becomes more critical on a sleek build like this one, of course.

Off the Shelf

Add it all up, and you've got a pretty sweet looking ride that looks like it could have rolled out of a custom bike shop. But in reality, it's been put together with a host of Thunderbike off-the-shelf parts. And of course, if you don't care for gold, you can paint it whatever color you like.
