Growing Family

Though Harley-Davidson's all-electric Livewire division hasn't quite taken off the way MoCo had hoped, the brand remains committed to it, regardless. Things figure to improve as the Livewire lineup expands, and in that regard, the less expensive and sportier S2 Del Mar has thus far proven to be a hit among younger folks. Now, the next addition to the Livewire lineup has been leaked by the folks at Motorcycle.com.

Reading the Tea Leaves

That bike will be the S2 Mulholland, which will share a platform with the Del Mar, making good on a few trademark filings from the company back in April and October. Further proof of its existence comes from the brand's update to its Del Mar owner's manual, which now makes reference to model code S2MH multiple times throughout those documents.

Longer, Lower, Lighter

There is some data regarding the S2 Mulholland present in that manual as well, including its 57.8-inch wheelbase, which is 0.6 inches longer than the Del Mar, along with a lower seat height - 0.25 inches compared to the Del Mar’s 30.9-inches. It also weighs 429 pounds, which is around 7 pounds lighter than the existing model.

Similar but Different

Both bikes share the S2 Arrow platform, so the fact that they're very close in terms of dimensions ultimately comes as no huge surprise. The documents do suggest that there are some notable differences between the two, including a possibly unique seat design that would explain the difference in height.

Road Focused

While the Del Mar has a somewhat hidden "flat track mode," it doesn't seem as if the Mulholland will follow suit, according to the owner's manual, which is flat track inspired to begin with. In that sense, it seems as if the new model is more of a sporty, on-road canyon carver versus the Del Mar's multi-surface aspirations.

Making Assumptions

That much one could also assume given the Mulholland's name, which comes from the famous road in Los Angeles that has long been a favorite among drivers. One could theorize that given its slight dimensional differences compared to the Del Mar, the Mulholland will offer up a more relaxed riding position, to boot.

Coming (Very) Soon?

In any event, we should know a lot more about the S2 Mulholland pretty soon, as the owner's manual in question pertains to the 2024 model year - making it likely that a full debut is right around the corner.
