Branch Attack

'The One' might be a show bike, but it is all business if it hits the street. Looking more at home on the set of a futuristic movie or in the hands of a crime-fighting superhero, this custom Harley-Davidson is the brainchild of Fat Attack Custom Bikes—a Swiss-based workshop and fabrication branch of Erbacher Bikes.

Radical Range

The One appears to be the 'dark custom' option in a lineup of similar, but stylistically different bikes.  The radical machines all fall under the banner of 'Erbacher One.' The Fat Attack team is led by shop owner and drag racing champion Urs Erbacher. Over the years they have produced an impressive array of custom Harley-Davidsons that range from mild to wild.

Speed Race

Erbacher's name is synonymous with custom bikes and drag racing. Between 2003 and 2005 he won three FIA European Championships in the Top Methanol Funny Car class, then moved up to the Top Fuel class, winning the FIA European Championships in 2007, 2010, and 2011. He continues to race and holds the European speed record of 514 kmh (319 mph) in 4.74 seconds.

Production Detail

With racing experience in tow, Erbacher carefully crafted his pinnacle design to be lightweight but powerful. He enthusiastically stated, “During its production, attention was paid to every detail to ensure that the materials used were the same as for racing.” The frame and related components are fabricated from a mix of chrome-moly steel, titanium, and aluminum.

Wide Weave

Carbon fiber was used extensively to further the weight loss program. The gas tank, seat, front and rear fender, along with the headlight shell and air cleaner cover were all made from the tough, but lightweight resin weave. At the rear of Erbacher's machine, a massive 300mm cross-section rear tire is slung in place with a custom-fabricated chrome-moly swingarm.

Machine Maintenance

At the heart of the wild ride sits a 120R Twin Cam motor, pumping out a claimed 130 horsepower. Despite being an over-the-top machine, Erbacher had usability in mind when he designed his dream ride. To facilitate maintenance, the standard OBD connection was retained, which means that potential owners can have their machine serviced by any Harley-Davidson dealership.

Inverted Duties

Despite its somewhat cartoonish appearance, Erbacher's machine has a number of real-world features. The ride height is controlled by an Air Ride system, which automatically raises and lowers as needed. Dual Brembo brakes in front, and a single in the back, amply take care of stopping duties. The front end is fitted with an inverted fork from Marzocci, the revered Italian suspension manufacturer.

Sticker Flair

The One is a dialed machine, infused with decades of racing know-how. There is no online price list for the machines at Erbacher Bikes, but as a general idea, the asking price for this latest creation is $145,000. With its European flair and curious design, The One may not actually be for everyone—doubly so because of the sticker price.
