Bright Finish

The old adage, 'chrome won't get you home,' takes a backseat on the 2020 FLHC Heritage Classic. For lovers of the 'shiny-stuff,' the 107 cubic-inch Heritage Classic gets a wash of chrome plucked straight off the FLDE Deluxe. Amidst a swamp of blacked-out bikes, the 2020 FLHC really earns its 'classic' moniker with bright throwback finishes.

Excellent Staple

The Heritage Classic has been described as an excellent all-around package for riders. The bike has good retro-styled Touring lines along with being an urban cruiser. The 2020 FLHC features a detachable windscreen, lockable studded leather-covered hard bags, a two-up seat, cruise control and ABS braking. First introduced as the FLSTC Heritage Softail Classic in 1986, the mid-weight model has been a Motor Company staple for over thirty years.

Chrome Zone

Unless you are a vampire, it is almost impossible not to catch your reflection in the Heritage Classic's bright-work. Covered in oodles of chrome, the 107 cubic-inch model can be distinguished by the large round air cleaner — a design that dates back to the mid-1930s. With 109 foot-pounds of torque, the polished Milwaukee-Eight 107 has no problem propelling the Heritage Classic into the fun zone.

Style Focused

Capitalizing on its forte, Harley-Davidson focused on styling for most of its existing lineup. The 2020 FLHC is no exception, featuring mirror-plated finishes extending from the speedometer housing to the floorboards. The list is extensive and includes the chrome air cleaner, wheels, headlamp bucket, and auxiliary lights. Other items are fork legs and covers, rear fender struts, side covers, risers with top clamp, and a full clear windscreen with chrome support hardware.

Comfortable Ergonomics

The Heritage Classic is equipped nicely for comfortable long-haul trips. Weighing in at 730 pounds, the 2020 FLHC is popular with those who do not want to maneuver the larger touring bikes about. Its five-gallon fuel tank and estimated 47 mpg fuel consumption translates to over 200 miles between gas station visits. The comfortable deep-scoop seat sits the rider at 26.3 inches off the ground, while mini-apes make for good riding ergonomics.

Nostalgic Instrumentation

Nostalgic touches abound on the 2020 Heritage Classic. The speedometer and housing, with cat-eye turn indicators, are an elegant riff on the early EL Knucklehead design. Unlike some of the newer Softails, which bundle all of the instrumentation into the handlebar-riser cap, the Heritage Classic has an easy to read analog speedometer with an LCD multi-function display integrated into the lower section.

Nice Complement

The Heritage Classic is equipped with darkness-defying "Signature LED Forward Lighting." In an odd mix, the taillight and turn signals remain as the older style incandescent lighting. Unlike the blacked-out 114 cubic-inch version, which some pundits have described as a funeral director's ride, the windshield and auxiliary lamps are clear. The see-through look is a nice complement to the shiny front fork and engine bright-work.

Timeless Touches

The Heritage Classic is a Harley-Davidson success story with the 1986 Softail Classic instantly becoming popular upon release. The many variants of the chopper-geometry Softails have been credited with financially saving the Motor Company. While the Heritage Classic has seen upgrades, it remains true to the original iconic design — just with more bling for 2020.
