While most of us have complained about the prices of a new Harley at some point in our life, bikes are still typically cheap compared to cars and trucks. And they're certainly a bargain compared to the incredibly bejeweled Harley-Davidson Blue Edition, a bike that reportedly cost $1.4-million to build. Who in the world would ever spend that kind of cash on a hog, you ask? Well, this amazing creation sprung from the Swiss boutique Bucherer and Bünderbike.

Adding Value

And when we say bejeweled, we really mean it. The Blue Edition Harley is fitted with an integrated watch and jeweled features, which undoubtedly helps drive the price up. Here you can see a custom-made watch based on the Patravi TravelTec II, which sits in its own armored glass case with a built-in retractable safe.

Bargain Shopping

Throw in 2,500 hours of labor, and what used to be nothing more than a stock Softail Slim S is something much, much more valuable today. It also makes the bike's original MSRP of just under $19k seem downright reasonable.

Fine Jewelry

If you're a fan of fine jewelry, you'll undoubtedly notice the many cool ways it's been integrated into the bike. Like the Dizzler rotating ring from Bucherer's collection, which has been mounted on the hand grips.

Purpose Built

All-in-all, the Blue Edition sports 360 diamonds and even gold-plated screws in addition to all of that other expensive stuff. It's almost like Bucherer purposely set out to make this bike the world's most expensive...because they did.

Devil's in the Details

Loads of work also went into making this Softail something truly special. Every inch of metal on the bike was "produced, welded, beaten, ground and polished by hand." That includes the frame, the custom wheels, and even the camshaft, which can be seen rotating through a window cut in the housing.

More Rings Than Lebron

You'll also find two diamond rings on the forks, with another one on the left side of the tank. The crown jewel, however, is a six-prong Heaven solitaire ring with a 5.40-carat diamond mounted in its own armored glass dome in a retractable safe.

Getting Noticed

To make sure you can see the Blue Edition (as if that's a problem), Bucherer added internal engine lighting with heat-resistant LED lights. And of course, it glows blue. On top of that, the unique blue color of this Harley comes from six coats of paint followed by a silver plating to top it all off.

Push It to the Limit

The end result, unsurprisingly, is a motorcycle built with the same care and precision as a fine watch or piece of jewelry. And while it's obviously something that few people would ever be able to afford, the Harley-Davidson Blue Edition is also an undeniably unique expression of just how far you can take your average cruiser.
