Harley and Hero Working on Jointly-Developed Motorcycle
Could Harley's lineup soon expand yet again?
New Addition
Harley-Davidson has been in the midst of some major changes for years now as it aims to stay relevant in a quickly changing competitive landscape. As a result, the ages-old company has rolled out its own EV motorcycle division - LiveWire - along with a host of exciting new products like the Pan America and a revived Sportster. Now, Harley is also working on developing a new motorcycle in partnership with Hero MotoCorp, according to Business-Standard.

Perfect Partner
Hero MotoCorp is based out of New Delhi in India and is one of the largest motorcycle manufacturers in the world, having produced over 100 million of them to date. It also holds around 37 percent of the two-wheel-crazed Indian market, which is impressive as well and a statistic that makes it the perfect partner for Harley in that particular part of the world.

Global Product
The first jointly-developed motorcycle to stem from this relationship will reportedly launch in 2024 and is in the final stages of development. The new model will be sold in India first, but will soon expand to other markets around the world as a truly global product.

Two Versions
Both Hero and Harley will get their own version of this new model to sell, albeit with different names and likely unique styling that will help differentiate one from the other and keep the character that we associate with both brands.

Premium Features, Price Tag?
That means that Hero's version will likely be less expensive compared to the Harley model, but that price premium will also come with the inclusion of far more features. Harley's version of the new bike is expected to slot right into the brand's lineup with the kinds of premium items that most associate with the iconic company's offerings.

Potential Segment
Otherwise, details on this new bike remain somewhat scant, and no one is even really sure what segment it will compete in. Rumors suggest that it could do battle in the 300-500cc range, however, a space that Royal Enfield currently dominates.

More to Come
Either way, there is one other important detail to note regarding this new relationship - it isn't just a one-and-done sort of situation. In fact, Hero and Harley plan on developing multiple new models in the coming years, so we'll have plenty of fruit to enjoy in the form of interesting new products, hopefully.
