Premium Rides

Harley-Davidson scores big with two eye-catching mid-year touring model releases. The 2020 CVO Road Glide and the Eagle Eye Yellow Special Edition are gorgeous additions to the Motor Company's already tempting lineup. Up next is a quick peek at these limited edition rides that are busy rewriting the definition of premium.

Pearl Offering

The 2020 CVO Road Glide is a proverbial rolling smoke show with how beautiful this edition turned out. Offered only in a Sand Dune white color with a pearl topcoat, this CVO package has minimal graphics. Your only accents against the white will be Smoked Satin Chrome, Gloss Black and Black Onyx finishes. Harley-Davidson rounds out the premium offering with the integrated H-D Connect, the new Reflex Defensive Rider Systems, a Boom! Audio 30K Bluetooth Helmet Headset and trimmings from the Kahuna Collection.

High Performance

The CVO Road Glide Special Edition gets more than just visual changes with some serious horsepower too. Shoehorned into the touring chassis is the Milwaukee-Eight 117 engine, the “largest-displacement factory-installed engine available from Harley-Davidson.” With 125 foot-pounds of neck-snapping torque, the M8 is fitted with a high-performance intake and cam. While no specifications are given, the performance will likely be similar to the SE8-498 in the Screamin' Eagle 117, Stage III bump-up kit.

Motor Runnin'

Those lucky enough to grab a seat behind the CVO Road Glide's bars will be treated to the latest in touring technology. The top of the list is the Reflex Defensive Rider Systems (RDRS) that matches the power to the available traction. With worry-free riding at hand, 600 watts of power from four Boom! Stage II bi-amped speakers will be sure to get your motor running.

Spread Eagle

Looking like it was dipped in the LiveWire's Yellow Fuse paint-bucket, is the Eagle Eye Yellow Special Edition. Based on the 2020 Road Glide Special, this retina-searing looker is treated with one of the more contemporary colors in the Motor Company's palette — highlighted by a black eagle graphic spreading its wings from the fuel tank to the fairing.

Attainable Custom

Apart from its awesome design, the factory-installed custom paint is backed by a limited warranty. The Bar & Shield logo is on the left side of the tank, the saddlebag latches are color-matched, and 'Harley-Davidson' appears on the outside edge of each saddlebag lid. The Motor Company's intention is to offer discerning customers “an attainable custom paint option,” without the need to install an accessory paint set.

Glide Motorvation

Blacked-out finishes and stretched saddlebags round-out the custom look on the 2020 Eagle Eye Yellow Special Edition Road Glide. Unlike the CVO, which sits on a 21" front and 18” rear wheel, the Eagle Eye rolls on a 19" front and 18" rear wheel — same as the standard Road Glide. 'Motorvation' for the Eagle Eye is the Milwaukee-Eight 114 engine, delivering slightly less power than the CVO version.

Blur Edition

The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price for the CVO starts at a wallet-chewing $40,999, while the Eagle Eye rings in at $29,294 — a $1,495 over the base price of a Special in solid color. Detractors might balk at the cost but should be reminded that Harley-Davidson always sells out its CVO and Special Edition models. Better catch one of these premium rides before they are just a passing blur.
