Golden State Harley Breakout Is a Tribute To America

Personal Ride

Kodlin USA has become well-known for its custom builds and as a seller of many parts and accessories, but it hasn't exactly been around forever. In fact. this 2019 Harley-Davidson FXBRS Breakout dubbed "Golden State" was one of three bikes built to mark its debut just a few years ago, and it also just so happens to be the personal ride of company co-founder Holger Mohr, to boot.

Rolling Showcase

Mohr teamed up with Fred Kodlin, Len Kodlin, and Martin Hommels to transform the Breakout to its current form with the intention of testing the company's new line of M8 Softail parts and accessories. That process began with Kodlin's own sheet metal body parts, which were installed and painted by Marcus Pfeil of Pfeil Design.

In House Parts

Those parts include Kodlin's wide rear fender, which accommodates the Breakout's OEM seat, as well as its own front fender and a Legends Air Ride system to make it adjustable in terms of ride height. The wheels come from Performance Machine and are wrapped in Avon tires at both ends.

Chin Spoiler

Just behind the rear wheel, one will find Kodlin's chin spoiler, which features two cut-out sections and a pair of mesh grilles to give it a racy, motorsports-inspired look.

Custom Stuff

The same goes for the headlight choice here, as this particular piece was custom-built by Kodlin as a clear racing-inspired element that's surrounded by a one-off fairing as well - giving it a truly unique appearance.

Ultra Wide

Viewing this ride from the rear gives us a better perspective of just how wide it is with that rear fender in place, as well as the diamond-stitched seat, which wraps around it - making room for two, if so desired. From this angle, the custom paintwork also shines, tying the whole thing together without detracting from it.

Coming to America

Overall, Golden State is the perfect way to celebrate Kodlin's entrance into the American market, which is notable given the fact that, well, Harley-Davidson is an American institution. And what better way to celebrate that immigration than with a unique, artful, attention-grabbing build?
