"Dark Knight" V-Rod Conjures Up Images of a Caped Crusader

Worldwide Phenomenon

While Harley-Davidson is a decidedly American brand, it has also become a worldwide icon over the last several years. Folks across the globe have caught the bug, and there are more than a few international shops churning out amazing custom bikes these days. That includes a German outfit called Dark Kustom, which has a bit of an affinity for the beloved V-Rod.

Dark Knight

This particular V-Rod - dubbed "Dark Knight" - certainly conjures up images of the comic book superhero Batman, who just so happens to share the same nickname. After all, it has been completely blacked out for a sinister yet understated appearance, which is all the rage these days.

Going Wide

The engine and its components were left alone, however, providing a bit of contrast to break up the dark bodywork. Adding to the muscular appearance is a rather large 280-series rear tire, which is the perfect compliment to such a cool treatment.

Common Upgrades

Dark Kustom also added a host of upgrades that are pretty common in the world of custom bikes, almost to the point where they're required. That includes an aftermarket exhaust system and progressive rear suspension, as well as the hardware required to fit that massive rear piece of rubber.

Careful Planning

The rest of the V-Rod's upgrades are proof that it doesn't take much to achieve a truly unique look - only a little bit of thought and careful planning. And in this case, Dark Kustom did a fantastic job of making that happen.

Worldwide Appeal

Skimming through the German shop's many custom builds, it becomes quite clear that this sort of thing is the norm for them. Dark Kustom has built a number of cool custom Harleys, including well over a dozen V-Rods. And if that isn't proof that Harley-Davidson, as a brand, has widespread appeal, well, we're not sure what will.
