BMW Isetta With Harley Power Is One Cool Combo
This amazing 1957 BMW Isetta dragster leans on Harley-Davidson power to motor down the track.
Future Diecast?
For several years now, Mattel has been hosting its Hot Wheels Legends Tour, which asks the owners/builders of any sort of cool vehicle to bring it out and show it off to the masses. Mattel then chooses a winner at each stop, with those folks getting the chance to have their vehicle forever immortalized in diecast form. The latest winner is perhaps one of the coolest creations we've seen yet, too - this 1957 BMW Isetta that's been transformed into a Harley-powered dragster.

Custom Everything
This wild combo was built and is owned by Michael Brown of Deputy, Indiana, who has nicknamed the tiny ride "Big Dill." As one might imagine, it's been customized in pretty much every possible way, starting with the one-off frame that lies underneath.

Going Wide
On the outside, Brown widened the rear wheel wells to make room for a massive new set of wheels and tires, the former of which came from a Volkswagen Beetle. From there, he ripped out the original single-cylinder powerplant and replaced it with something far more sinister - and cooler, we'd argue.

Proper Rocketship
That something is a 1.2-liter Harley-Davidson V-Twin, which churns out an unspecified amount of power. However, considering the fact that an original Isetta only makes around 12 raging ponies, even a milder version of Harley's mill is sure to make this tiny, lightweight machine a real rocket ship.

Custom Interior
Inside the cabin, one will find a totally custom interior as well, one that's a huge improvement on the stock Isetta's threads. Diamond-stitching covers pretty much every surface, and there's a single seat present with an old-fashioned three-spoke steering wheel, along with a roll cage for safety's sake.

Another One
Overall, Brown notes that this build took him 438 hours to complete, but interestingly enough, it isn't the only cool custom Isetta he owns. In fact, Brown also built another Isetta with a flatbed that he uses to haul this cool dragster around, though it's powered by a GM-sourced inline-six. Now, Brown will have to wait and see if his amazing ride is good enough to move on to the semi-finals of the 2023 Hot Wheels Legends Tour competition, which takes place in November.
