Gone But Not Forgotten

Throughout the course of history, we've seen plenty of motorcycle nameplates come and go, which is commonplace in the industry. After all, not every motorcycle is going to resonate with customers, and others fail for various other reasons as well - typically, financially related ones. Regardless, there are several Harley-Davidson models that are no longer around, and yet, many wish they were - a list that includes these five, specifically.

XR1200

The XR1200 - produced between 2008 and 2013 - is easily one of the sportiest, if not the sportiest model ever produced by Harley-Davidson, which is obviously saying something. Inspired by the company's flat track models, it's just simply a cool-looking bike that didn't really catch on with consumers back in its heyday, and that's truly a shame, we think.

VRSC

Then there's the VRSC, which could arguably be the one discontinued Harley that is most deserving of a comeback, given its popularity in the used market these days. The V-Rod is a muscular-looking bike that still gives off futuristic vibes today, years after its discontinuation, which has also made it a popular canvas for customization as well.

Iron 883/1200

Both the Iron 883 and Iron 1200 came about as part of Harley's plan to market more affordable bikes to entry-level customers, and ultimately, both failed in that attempt and are no longer around. However, Harley has since completely reinvented and repositioned the Sportster, so there might just be room in the lineup for these types of affordable yet fun offerings yet again.

Softail Slim

The Softail Slim was a smaller, less bodacious bike compared to the Fat Boy when it was made and sold between 2012 and 2021, one with a lower seat and floorboards for a relaxed riding position. That alone makes it worthy of a comeback, because who doesn't like a nice, comfortable, laid-back cruiser every now and then?

Dyna Wide Glide

Finally, we have the Dyna Wide Glide, which has already been discontinued once only to make a comeback a few years later - so why not again? Throughout its multiple life spans, the Dyna Wide Glide has been treated to a variety of muscular V-Twin engines, and we could certainly see the factory-built "custom" bike doing it all over again soon.
