Between this FXR's engine, suspension, and brake setup it's unlikely any criminals will outrun this bike.

The Perfect Pair

Great bikes are made from perfect pairings: a fantastic frame mixed with an equally immense engine. A brand new Milwaukie-Eight powertrain has been shoehorned into this 1993 FXR, and they make the perfect couple. It took some searching but the guys behind this project found a retired 1993 FXRP Police bike and, although it had seen better days, it'd make the perfect home for their M-8 engine.

Factory Look

This FXRP is obviously a custom build but it also has a distinct factory look to it: this didn't happen by accident. It was always the plan was to make this 26-year-old bike look like it rolled off the factory line housing an M-8 motor. Thankfully the guys behind this project managed to get Harley-Davidson on board, meaning they received a brand new engine, transmission, and all the small parts and electrical components they needed to make the project possible.

Not Just an Engine Swap

This project is far more than the fitting of a new engine to an old frame. This bike has a smooth and stable ride thanks to Race Tech G6 and G3-S suspension components, and Speed Merchant triple trees. Bringing everything to a swift halt are Beringer radial brakes. And, whether this bike is accelerating or slowing down, the ContiTour rubber from Continental Tires will ensure that it has plenty of traction.

Power

The Milwaukee-Eight engine packs a punch but, for this project, it received a power increase. The guys behind the build brought the FXR to Leading Edge V-twin in Phonix where it was fitted with a 151ci big-bore kit: this increased its power by 60%. Now this monster pumps out 165 horsepower and 183 lb-ft of torque. One thing is for sure, this FXR moves faster than it ever did during its time with the Fairfax Police Department in Virginia.

Style

This bike isn't just mechanically impressive, it's a thing of beauty! One of its stand out features is its stainless-steel multistep exhaust which was hand-built for this project. The bodywork received a stylized version of the classic black and white police bike paint scheme. Completing the look is a set of police bags which were donated by FXR Division. If these were the actual cruisers that cops used, the police force would likely see a drastic increase in applications.
