Default Stock RK fender drilled out for 21" wheel

I want to do a low rider RK and on the ones I see the front fender is stock just drilled out, I guess my question is do you use a slightly larger drill or just route out a little forward and up? If anyone has done this and has photos would be helpful. Thanks

This question has come up in other threads. Most suggest that you open up the rear holes and rotate the fender forward so it will clear the rubber. When I did this project I did not want to drill and try to remount my fenders. I just bought the blocks and raised up the hole fender. Quick and easy.

I looked at doing that but the rise in the fender with the spacer I dont know but something about it didnt look as good and it seems if you open the back hole and raise it up the fender would look out of level in the front. Thanks for the reply Uplandpinter

I'll try to get a pic of mine. To me you don't even notice the spacer.

The first pic is of my 21" ride rite Fat fifty. The second pic is a close up of the spacers that lift up the fender so you do not have to drill the fender bolt holes.

Uplandpinter, Thanks for the photo, that looks great, I must have been looking at 23"s. Who makes that spacer?

I just did a 21 wheel, did a lot of research on it as well. if your just doing a 21 wheel ( depending on the tire you use) if you oblong the hole up and down, you need to make sure appr 1/4 of space is there between the inside of the fender and tire. for heat expansion, so if you tape a nut that is 1/4 thick to the center of the tire and give it a spin, make sure it doesn't bind, hint..................... spin it very slowly so it doesn't hit anything hard if it is going to bind.

now if your going to lower the front end, then typically you need to take the brake lines ( the hard line from under the triple tree) and "spread them outboard a bit since during the actuation of the front suspension, the metal end at the hard to soft brake line connection will most likely touch the fender marking up the paint

just gently by hand pull them outboard a bit so they pass by either side of the fender
