Default Rear Wheel Spacers

I have a 06 Dyna Street Bob and just put my rear tire back on....Does it matter which way the wheel spacers go on?

If I installed them backwards will it wreck my wheel bearings?

TIA

Rob

They say the machined rings in the spacer should be facing outside however on both of my bikes and the bikes I've worked on, there is absolutely no difference so I'm not sure if they just say that because on some bikes there is a difference or some other reason.
