so i gave my buddy the fat 21 inch front wheel (3.25) i was running on my 1990 FXST, and he'd like to put it on his 2000 FXST... we mocked it up, axle's the same at 3/4, but since the later models run a sealed bearing in the hub, anyone know where we sit with getting this earlier hub to work?.... just a matter of proper spacers it seems like.... any thoughts from anyone?

Sounds as if you are in control there! Be aware that your 2000 rotor won't fit right on the '90 hub, as the central locating hole is larger, although the bolt pattern is the same.

 

you are correct, GR... bolt pattern is fine but yes, the hub hole is much larger on the later rotor...so we simply went and got an early rotor and of course, that bolted up to the hub and fit just fine

so yes, we're back to figuring out proper spacers to fit essentially between each side of the sleeve and the ends of the fork tube... that sound about right?

....of course, the speedo sleeve is eliminated so that will have to be accommodated for with a proper spacer
