You are taking about the rims - right? You bought new rims for the bike with sealed bearings in them? If so just put them in. You will probably need different spacers.

Harley moved to sealed bearings in 2000 - a one piece unit.

A 1998 rim has tapered roller bearings that come in 2 parts - the bearing and an outer race. If the bearing race in the wheel is good then you only need the tapered part. The bearings are cheap - $7.50 at NAPA Auto. I believe it is Timkem # LM11949 but you need to check.
The biggest problem with tapered bearings is setting the end play (the bearing movement back and forth). Instruction are all over the Internet on how to do this.
And you might also have to buy 3 or 4 bearing shims.

Then it should bolt right on - but I suggest you research tapered bearings and setting the end play. You should not take it for granted that the bearings are good - you need to take them out, clean them and look!

Well, yes - that is the way I read that ad too. It's a sealed bearing kit for the older tapered bearing rims.

Wheels with tapered roller bearings have separate seals, later spec wheels with ball-race bearings have seals integral with the bearing. Stock Harley ball-race bearings are larger in OD than the stock tapered bearings, however the kit you posted a link to are the same OD as tapered bearings, hence will fit. That kit won't fit later stock Harley wheels.

Sorry guys..i'm confused again...lol My bike,98 dyna which takes the older bearings...the wheels I bought are off of a 2000 dyna, which is the sealed bearings and have different spacers....If I got this right from what I read, I just order an axel kit that comes with the right spacers is for the 2000 wheels to put on my 98.Everything else is the same, front end and swing arm....?? THANKS!!
