Default Need help IDing a 2007 Streetglide Pulley

Hello
I have kind of tought question for the forum. I have a 2000 electraglide classic. I bought a set of 2007 streetglide rims. Front one fits great; bolt up install, but I want to mount the rear wheel on my bike. I know it is different and that I have to change the rear swing arm. I was told that I needed a 1" 66T sprocket for the wheel to work on my bike. After some research through my local harley dealer, I was given the part number 40217-07 for the correct pully. I noticed that numbers stamped on the back of some of the pulleys that I have seen on ebay do not match that number they end in -07 but the prefix numbers vary. Can someone tell me how to accurately ID a 2007 streetglide pulley. Do these numbers matter? Some of the item discriptions stated that some of these puillys fit Dynas too
Thank you for your help

I installed a 2007 swingarm, wheel and pulley in my 1990 bike. What size rear pulley does your bike currently have, prior to getting the new wheels? Being a 2000 I would guess it is a 70T, in which case you want a 70T for a later bike. You want the same size pulley, to avoid changing your belt.

I have a 70T pully. I am afraid that because the axle size is different, and I am not to sure of the width 2007 rims as compared to my 00 rims, I was figuring on using a 2007 66t pully from a streetglide instead of my 00 one. Not too many 2007 touring pullys for sale, only new for 200 bucks. There are alot of 66T pulleys for softails that look similar. I dont know if it would be wise to use a pully form a different model bike. Im not too worried about the belt, I have 100 grand on the old one , about time for a new one anyway. Honestly, I dont know if the bolt pattern would match. On a side note. Did you drill out the pivot mount on the transmission to fit the larger pivot bolt for the swingarm? I know my 00 is 5/8" and the 07 is 3/4"

The 70T wide pulley was used up to 2006 I understand, changing to narrow in 2007. If you go to a smaller diameter pulley you will also have to change drive belt. So it's horses for courses! Either find a wide 70T, or use a smaller one with belt. The first is the cheapest course! Pinwall on Ebay sell a lot of secondhand stuff, so you could contact them to see if they can supply a suitable pulley. I've even used them myself!
