Default lace to cast

Got a 2004 ultra, came across a screamin deal on a set of 2008 nine spoke cast wheels. 2004 axles are one inch, 2008 axles are 25mm. Can I use the wheel install kit for 2004 cast wheels on the 2008 rims? If not what will I need to buy? My stealer is no help at all, what a surprise. I know some one out there has done this swap.

Harley sells a bearing kit for that generation of wheels. I have gone from 3/4" to 1" with an 02 wheel, converting from a Deuce to a Touring bike, so yes, you should be able to use one. Take a look at custom wheels on Harley's website, where they list the various kits, that's what I did. They are for new wheels and come with bearings and spacers, plus valve stem.

Outstanding, your response is greatly appreciated. I looked at those kits from the dealership but they couldn't or wouldn't give me a definite answer. Now I can give my wife the answer she's been looking for, " why did you buy them and how long they gonna sit in the bedroom." The project moves forward.
