SO I have been running the Commander II's for about 700 miles now....DRY GRIP is awesome!! I'm as sure as anything in the dry! I can press my Deuce into corners so hard my pegs will start to drag and fold up under my feet.


Wet grip however, sucks *****....My Deuce breaks the rear end loose almost every time it leans.....Try to take off....breaks loose, stop fast, just slides...I have to make very calculated, slow, controlled moves in order to keep them hooked up....Give me no faith in an emergency....

These tires suck worse in the wet then any other tire I've ever rode and i've rode on a lot of rubber over the past 10 years...

I will not be using Commander II's again.

 

No rain issues here but Im on an ultra, I know these tires were made specifically for touring models so Im wondering if the difference in weight might be a factor.

 

Interesting....I didn't know they were made for touring bikes....hmmmmm

 

Just a long shot, but I learned long ago that other brands of tyre sometimes use different tyre pressures to stock. Have you checked Michelin's website for the correct pressures for your bike?

 

On their site, the tire sizes I have are recomended for my Deuce, but no pressure listed....

Currently running 80-90-21 (front at 34psi) and rear (160/70-17 at 30psi.)

 

I have a Michelin Commander II on the back of my 2011 FLHX. Called Michelin and they said to run pressure suggested by HD.

I'm not impressed with the tire at all. I have about 5000KMS on it and will be switching back to Dunlop in the spring.

The rear end has kicked out on me twice in corners in the past 3 weeks (not even aggressive corners).

wet or dry?? My dry performance has been steller...it's been only wet issues for me....

 

That's not very helpful of them! I haven't ever used Michelins so have only just looked at their UK website, out of curiosity, and that doesn't give pressures either, although they do give recommended sizes. I must say those pressures sound low to me.

 

All of my other bikes I usually ran at 40 and 40.....(the pressure they are at now is what the indy put them at when the tires where installed)

 

Dry. Not one bit impressed with the tire.
