single to dual front brake conversion

Default single to dual front brake conversion

i have a 1988 FXSTC and would like to go to twin front brake's, the single disc seems like it don't stop that good even with new pads, can anyone help. can i get the lower's off another bike, did they have dual disc on the early FXSTC or some kind of way to add another caliper and mount. maybe if i new what bike to use i can find the right H-D and just get the lower right fork (41mm), disc, and all other parts i would need ,,any help would be helpful,,,,thanks',,,,keith

I'm pretty sure dual discs were only available on the first couple of years of the shovelhead wideglide.

You can not do that because it is not made that way at the factory. What you see is only your imagination. You can not put:
  • Real Brembos on
  • 320mm Rotors on
If the MOCO thought you would need dual disks they would pt them on.

yeh it's not made that way that's why you change it like you want, maybe i can do something with my mill and tig welder
