Default Valve Stem Replacement Cost

I just noticed that I have a leaky valve stem that needs replacing. (Thanks to a Windex trick I read on here!) I'm not a great do-it-yourselfer by no means and messing with tires on a bike make me nervous, so I'm taking it to a shop come Monday. Does anyone know about how much it should cost to have an indy shop replace a stem? I would just like to have an idea so that I know if I'm getting screwed or not.

Oh and it's on an 02 Sportster 1200 Custom.

If you remove the wheel and bring it in,I would say about $30.-$50.

If they have to remove the wheel, you most likely will have to pay their shop rate of $60-$110 per hour.Probly 1 to 1 3/4 hours.

Call around first!

You might also want to look into the 90 degree valve stems that will make airing the tire up much easier.

Wound up being $95 for the labor + parts. All because I forgot to tell them to change it when they replaced the tire. I guess the tire and stem were both leaking. Well, that's one lesson I'll never forget. VALVE STEM, VALVE STEM, VALVE STEM!

I've heard mixed reviews of the 90 degree stem. Some love 'em because of the ease. Others have had problems with them leaking.

I've had them on my bike for 5000 miles, no problems.
